AUSTIN, Texas- Maryland totaled eight hits including two by Amanda Brashear and Skylynne Ellazar in a 10-2 five-inning loss to #14 Minnesota Sunday to wrap up the weekend at the Texas Invitational.

The Terrapins got off to a hot start in the first inning with the first four batters putting through singles. Kristina Dillard's dasher up the middle was good to score Ellazar. A few batters later, Juli Strange reached on an error and scored Dillard.

Senior Madison Martin got her first start of the year in the circle and pitched three innings, allowing two earned runs.

The Gophers scored in every inning, by way of ten hits and three Maryland errors.

On the weekend, Brashear led the Terps in hitting, batting at a .500 clip (8-for-16). Ellazar and Anna Kufta were right behind her, with Ellazar hitting .467 and Kufta batting .438 with two home runs.

Next weekend the Terrapins will make their first ever trip to Gainesville, Fl. for the Aquafina Invitational hosted by the University of Florida.
