Meet the Terp: Anna Kufta

Anna Kufta is ready to make an impact in the infield for the Terps in her first collegiate season. Kufta ended her club career on a high note with a PGF national title, and comes to College Park from Huntington Beach, California. Get to know Anna Kufta.
How was your first semester at Maryland?
It started off a little rough. When people say that college is nothing like high school, they are right. But at the same time I loved every second of it.
What attracted you to the University of Maryland?
A lot of things, but the main reasons are the staff and the pride. Everyone from administration to the coaches wants to see you succeed and they work as hard as they can to make sure you do so.
What is your favorite memory from playing softball?
My favorite memory is winning the PGF National Championship last year. Nothing beats the feeling of playing your last travel ball game in front of a big crowd, on TV, for a national championship.
How has it been getting to know your teammates?
Fun and easy, there are so many different personalities and everyone is welcoming. I could not have asked for a better group of teammates.
Are you a good cook, what's your favorite thing to make?
I would say I am, but other people might not say the same. My signature dish is probably eggs, can't really go wrong there.
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
My favorite thing about myself in my work ethic, I strive to always work hard. I am a firm believer that hard work pays off, and it is the one thing that you can always control.
What is the best vacation you have ever been on?
It is a tie between Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Time, I wish I had all the time in the world so I could travel the world, and experience new things.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Love hanging out with friends, going on hikes, and going to the beach.
Favorite TV Show: Greys Anatomy, hands down.
Favorite Movie: Remember the Titans, Grease
Favorite Food: avocados, sushi, and any kind of Mexican food
Favorite Dessert: cookie dough ice cream
