COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland baseball team hits the road for its spring break trip to UNC Wilmington this week. The Terps will face the Seahawks on Tuesday and Wednesday.

LEADING IT OFF
• The Terps swept Princeton to complete its third consecutive 3-0 weekend. It is the first time in program history Maryland has gone 3-0 in three consecutive weekends.
• Maryland's pitching staff was spectacular against the Tigers, allowing just one earned run in 27.0 innings. The Terps struck out 26 to just four walks and allowed just 13 hits.
• That performance produced a pair of Big Ten weekly awards. Junior RHP Brian Shaffer won Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, while freshman LHP Tyler Blohm earned Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.
• Maryland continues its great work on the bases, having now stolen 39 bags in 18 games. The Terps had 28 in 57 games last season.
• Shaffer (1.65) and Blohm (1.78) sit second and third in the Big Ten in ERA. Fellow weekend starter Taylor Bloom (3.86) sits 15th.
• Senior right-handed pitcher Mike Rescigno makes the first start of his career on Tuesday. Rescigno has used out of the bullpen his last three years as a pitcher after starting his career as a freshman as a 1B/3B. He currently boasts nine strikeouts in seven innings.
• The 2017 season is head coach John Szefc's fifth season in College Park. Szefc has led the Terps to four straight 30-win seasons and two NCAA Super Regional appearances, both program firsts. He became the fastest coach in Maryland history to win 150 games when the Terps topped Bryant in game one of a doubleheader on 3/12.
• The Terps topped the Big Ten preseason coaches poll while D1Baseball, Perfect Game and Baseball America named Maryland the Big Ten favorites for the 2017 season. It is the third straight year D1Baseball has tabbed the Terps its Big Ten preseason frontrunner.
