Terps Add Five Star Recruit to 2017 Class

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland women's tennis head coach Daria Panova announced today the addition of five-star recruit Zoe Kulkarni, who has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Terrapins next season.

"Zoe is great addition to our 2017 class," head coach Daria Panova said. "She has proven that she can win at a high level and is extremely dedicated to improving her game.  Zoe has a great work ethic, is extremely competitive and athletic, and will continue to get better in the college system. She is a team player who can make an immediate impact in singles and doubles and we can't wait to have her on campus in the fall."

Kulkarni is the No. 39 recruit in the class of 2017 according to tennisrecruiting.net. She has played both internationally and nationally on the junior circut. Her highlights include reaching the semifinals of the Copa Coqui -- Cabo Rojo ITF Tournament in 2015, and winning the Reel Tennis Open Championships in 2016.

The Oregon native is the top-ranked player in the state, and is also the No. 2 player in the Northwest region. She currently trains in Florida where she attends Laurel Springs Online High School.

Kulkarni is the first commitment during the spring signing period and joins Eva Alexandrova in Maryland's 2017 class.
