BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana hit a grand slam with two outs in the seventh to earn a 6-3 victory over Maryland at Bart Kaufman Field Sunday afternoon.

Following the grand slam, a lighting delay occurred that stretched game towards a predetermined 2:35 p.m. travel curfew. After the game resumed at 2:20 p.m., Maryland played its half of the eighth inning, but was unable to bring home a run. The game then ended after the bottom half of the inning hit 2:35 p.m.

The Terrapins (29-13, 14-5 Big Ten) took a one nothing lead on a Nick Dunn RBI that brought home Zach Jancarski in the first. Craig Dedelow tied the game off Maryland starter Taylor Bloom with a solo shot in the second.

The fourth inning saw the Terps plate two runs on a Kevin Smith home run, his eighth of the year. Smith's bomb hit the scoreboard in left field and came with sophomore Dan Maynard on base.

Jeremy Houston's solo home run cut the Maryland lead to 3-2 in the fifth. Dedelow's grand slam came off RHP Ryan Selmer in the seventh.

Maryland threatened throughout the game, but ended up leaving 12 men on base. Smith, Jancarski and Marty Costes had multi-hit ballgames.

Maryland returns to action Wednesday afternoon against Towson in Aberdeen, Md. That contest will begin at 7 p.m. from Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.
