COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Alexandra Stanova was named to the 2017 Women's Tennis All-Big Ten Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
This is the second All-Conference award for the Slovakia native. She was named to the 2014 All-ACC Women's Tennis Third Team in her freshman season. She is also the first Terp to earn All-Big Ten honors since Maryland moved to the conference.
Stanova was a main contributor in Maryland's most successful spring season in program history. Playing in the first doubles position, she totaled 13 victories, primarily with senior partner Kristina Hovsepyan. She also played in the top spot of the Terps' singles rotation, picking up 11 victories, which was good for second best on the roster.
The conference also announced that freshman Katsiaryna Yemelyanenka was the team's Sportsmanship Award recipient.
