COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Seniors Jordan Aughinbaugh and Hannah Dewey both delivered their first home runs of the year to power Maryland's offense, but the Terps couldn't hang on as Wisconsin earned a 5-3 victory Saturday.

Maryland honored three members of its senior class in the second part of its senior weekend celebrations, as Sarah Calta, Madison Martin and Juli Strange were recognized in a pre-game ceremony along with their friends and family.

Aughinbaugh came through with her first collegiate home run in a big spot for the Terps, as she broke a scoreless tie with a ball over the left field fence in the bottom of the third. The two-run shot brought in Kassidy Cross to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage, before Wisconsin got on the board in the ensuing inning with a run.

Dewey followed up Aughinbaugh's homer with a solo shot of her own to lead off the fourth inning, to push Maryland's lead back to two. Madison Martin limited damage in the top of the fifth, holding Wisconsin to one run after runners made it to second and third with no outs.

The Badgers finally broke through with the winning runs in the sixth, scoring three on four hits to take a 5-3 lead. Freshman Lauren Graves was solid in relief for Maryland, allowing just one hit in 1.2 innings of work.

Maryland tried to fire up a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh, as Aughinbaugh walked and Skylynne Ellazar singled through the right side. But a ground out would end the game as Wisconsin picked up the win and series victory.

Maryland will wrap up its 2017 campaign tomorrow against Wisconsin at 1 pm.
