COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore guard Kaila Charles scored 16 as the No. 14 Maryland women's basketball team (16-3, 5-1 Big Ten) overcame a late deficit to defeat Indiana (8-12, 1-6), 74-70, Tuesday evening at the XFINITY Center.

Three other Terps finished in double-digit scoring: senior Kristen Confroy (15), sophomore Stephanie Jones (13) and freshman Channise Lewis (12).

With three treys in Tuesday's game, Confroy currently has 188 three-pointers in her career. She moved into No. 2 on Maryland's all-time list, passing Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (186) and is behind just Kristi Toliver (300).

Confroy hit all her three-point baskets in the first quarter as the Terrapins finished with an 18-13 lead. Indiana came back to tie in the second, 22-22, and took the lead. Lewis had two late treys, including a buzzer-beater at the half to tie the game again, 30-30.

The Terps shot 7-of-8 early in the third to push ahead, 48-40. Two late threes gave Indiana a 56-52 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Junior Eleanna Christinaki scored all nine of her points in the fourth quarter to help the Terps tie, 65-65. A Christinaki jumper gave Maryland a 71-70 lead, and Maryland was able to hold Indiana scoreless for the final 2:25.
