• Indiana holds a 5-7 advantage in the all-time series, but Maryland is 3-2 against the Hoosiers since joining the Big Ten in 2014-15. The Terps captured a 75-72 victory in College Park during the teams' only meeting last season on January 10. The Terps topped Indiana 64-52 on April 1, 2002 in Atlanta to win the program's first national championship.
• Kevin Huerter scored 19 points, Anthony Cowan Jr. had a career-high 10 assists and Maryland used a strong second half to beat Minnesota 77-66 in its last game on Jan. 18. Cowan posted his second career double-double in the victory, totaling 15 points in addition to his career-best 10 assists. Cowan is the first Maryland player to record at least 10 assists in a game since Melo Trimble posted 10 against Princeton on December 19, 2015.
• Senior Michal Cekovsky remains one of the most efficient offensive players in the Big Ten, ranking third in the conference in shooting percentage (.693) while shooting 72% in conference games. Cekovsky finished with 17 points in Maryland's win over Minnesota, while tallying a season-high four blocks against the Golden Gophers.
• Anthony Cowan Jr. continues to be the catalyst for Maryland on the offensive end this season, as the Bowie, Md. native has led the Terps in scoring in 17 different games including five of eight Big Ten contests. Cowan leads Maryland in points per game (16.3), which ranks seventh in the Big Ten. He also leads the Terps in free throw pct. (85.8% - T-3rd in B1G), assists per game (4.9 - T-3rd in B1G) and steals per game (1.4 - T-8th in B1G) while averaging a league-high 35.9 minutes per game.
• Freshmen Bruno Fernando and Darryl Morsell have been one of the most impactful freshmen tandems in the Big Ten this season, as the duo have combined to average 18.6 points per game (first in B1G) and 9.8 rebounds per game (first in B1G). Maryland is the only team to have two different freshmen be named Big Ten Freshmen of the Week this season.
• Head coach Mark Turgeon is currently participating in the Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge in support of the Alzheimer's Association – the world's leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. Turgeon has a personal connection with Alzheimer's as his wife, Ann, lost her father, Jon Fowler, to Alzheimer's in June of 2006 at the age of 68 after being diagnosed with the disease six years prior.
