
#14 Terps Host #8 Buckeyes on Big Monday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The 14th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (16-3, 5-1 B1G) will host No. 8 Ohio State (16-3, 5-1) in a top-15 matchup at the XFINITY Center Monday. The Terps and the Buckeyes will tip off at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 as part of ESPN's Big Monday.

The Terps-Buckeyes matchup will be televised around the world on ESPN2 as part of Big Monday. The game can be seen online through WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app. Fans can watch with their cable login information.

The Terrapins will partner with Play4TheCure at Monday's game. Play4TheCure is a fundraising platform for the National Foundation for Cancer Research which provides funding worldwide to the best scientists to enable cutting edge research that other large cancer organizations can't and won't fund. Play4TheCure inspires young athletes and their teams to leverage their passion for sports to “Play4” loved ones affected by cancer and encourages them to actively participate in working to fund cancer research to make a difference.
Fans will have the opportunity to bid on Maryland memorabilia on the concourse beginning an hour before tip-off and running through the first half. All proceeds will benefit the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
The Terrapins are coming off of a 74-70 win over Indiana Tuesday. They outscored the Hoosiers, 22-14 in the fourth quarter, to seal the win. Kaila Charles scored 16 points, 14 in the second half, Kristen Confroy scored 15 and Stephanie Jones added 13. Channise Lewis chipped in 12 and six assists. Eleanna Christinaki scored nine points, all in the fourth quarter.
Seven Terrapins are scoring in double figures - Kaila Charles (17.1), Blair Watson (13.8), Stephanie Jones (11.7), Eleanna Christinaki (11.3), Ieshia Small (11.3), Brianna Fraser (10.6) and Kristen Confroy (10.5). Maryland is the only team in the country with seven in double figures.
Monday's matchup is the 11th all-time between Maryland and Ohio State, with the series currently tied. The Buckeyes won 98-87 in Columbus last year on Feb. 20. The Terps are 3-2 vs. Ohio State at the XFINITY Center.
The Terrapins are currently ranked No. 7 in the country in scoring margin (+23.4), No. 8 in scoring (85.3) and No. 9 in rebounds (44.8) and three-point field goal percentage (.394). Confroy is leading the Big Ten in three-point FG percentage (.456). Stephanie Jones is No. 4 in the league in FG percentage (.601).
Kaila Charles has scored in double figures in 17 of 19 games this season. Kristen Confroy has played in 102 straight games, dating back to February of her freshman year. Confroy currently has made 188 career threes moving into No. 2 on Maryland's all-time list. She recently passed Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (186) and is behind Kristi Toliver (300). Confroy is also No. 4 in the Maryland record books in career three-point percentage (.400).
Maryland recently lost second leading scorer Blair Watson for the season with a torn right ACL suffered Jan. 10 in practice. Watson is the Terps' second-leading scorer with 13.8 points through 17 games this season. She is the Big Ten's most improved scorer and ranked third in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.441).
