COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland (13-3, 2-1) will return to competition to face No. 1-ranked Michigan State (14-1, 2-0) on Thursday, Jan. 4 in East Lansing, Michigan at 8:00 pm. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.

• Maryland will return to competition to face No. 1-ranked Michigan State on Thursday, Jan. 4 in East Lansing, Michigan at 8:00 pm. Three of Maryland's next four games will be played on the road.
• Maryland has won 10 games vs. AP No. 1 teams all-time, last knocking off a top-ranked team on Jan. 19, 2008 with an 82-80 victory at North Carolina. Maryland has captured three of its wins over No. 1 ranked teams on the road.
• Maryland is 3-3 against Michigan State since joining the Big Ten, and 5-6 overall vs. the Spartans in the all-time series between the two schools. The Terps got a last-second three-pointer from Melo Trimble in his final game at XFINITY Center last season to secure a 63-60 victory on March 4, 2017when the teams last met.
• Freshman Bruno Fernando had 17 points and 11 rebounds (first career double-double), Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 18 and Maryland rallied past Penn State 75-69 its last time out on Jan. 2 to extend its winning streak to seven. The Terps committed a season-low five turnovers in the win.
• Kevin Huerter was clutch in the second half against the Nittany Lions, scoring all 13 of his points in the final 11 minutes of the game. Huerter tallied a career high nine free throws on nine attempts down the stretch to help the Terps secure their second win in the B1G.
• Cowan continues to be the catalyst for Maryland on the offensive end this season, as the Bowie, Md. native has led the Terps in scoring in 11 different games including all three Big Ten contests. Cowan leads Maryland in points per game (15.6), free throw pct. (86.9%), assists per game (4.5) and steals per game while averaging a league-high 35.3 minutes per game.
• Jared Nickens has now moved into 10th in Maryland history in career three-pointers with 161 as a Terp. Nickens passed Maryland great Walt Williams (154) against Catholic on Dec. 12, and now sits 15 three pointers away from tying Drew Nicholas (176) for ninth. Nickens currently ranks third in the Big Ten in three-point field percentage (53.3%).
• Kevin Huerter has moved into the top-20 all-time in career three pointers made, as the sophomore now has 104 career threes as a Terp. The mark moves him into 19th all-time at Maryland, and the Clifton Park, N.Y. native is primed to climb further up the all-time list throughout Big Ten play.
• Maryland is currently shooting 48.9% from the floor this season, which ranks third in the Big Ten and 36th in the country. The Terps are also third in the conference in three-point field percentage (39.1%) connecting on 128 of 327 attempts.
