Liz Twilley tied her season-high with 17 kills in a four set loss (21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 13-25) to No. 17 Purdue on Friday night.
After dropping a tightly contested first set, Maryland came from as many as six behind to take the second, winning six of the last seven points in the set. Maryland fell in another close set in the third set before Purdue rode the momentum to ice the match with a 25-13 tally in the fourth set.

Nicole Alford, tallied 44 assists, the most she's had in a four set match this season. Redshirt freshman
Katie Myers posted eight kills, three blocks and an ace.
Maryland played from behind in the first set as the Terps got off to a tough start offensively. The Terps had 10 attack errors, leading to a match-low .083 hitting percentage. Twilley kept it close at the end of the set, with two kills as Maryland cut it to two at 23-21 but Purdue got the last two points of the set.
The second set started similarly to the first but didn't end the same way as the Terps finished strong, winning the crucial points towards the end to win the set 25-23. Down 18-14, Maryland went on a 9-5 run to tie the match at 23 before winning the last two points. Junior setter
Samantha Snyder took the serve with Maryland down 23-22 and three different Terps, Myers, Pritchard and Twilley notched kills, all on Alford assists to give Maryland the 25-23 victory.
A Snyder ace and two Twilley kills gave Maryland a 4-1 lead in the third set in a frame that was neck and neck throughout. The set featured a 6-0 Maryland run on a freshman libero
Allegra Rivas service, which featured two Twilley kills. Purdue responded with a 4-0 run of their own to go up 18-16 and never looked back, winning the set 25-20.
The Boilermakers took the fourth set 25-13, which had Twilley coming through for four of Maryland's 13 kills to tie her season-high.
The Terps (12-9, 3-6 Big Ten) will head to Bloomington to face Indiana on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
