
Smith Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Freshman Jalen Smith has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after a career-best performance in the Maryland men's basketball team's victory over Loyola (Md.) last week.
It marks the second Freshman of the Week honor of the season for Smith.
Smith was sensational in the win over the Greyhounds, scoring a career-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while adding eight rebounds and two blocks.
The Baltimore native currently ranks third on the team in points (11.7/g) and second in rebounds (7.1/g), while ranking fifth in the Big Ten in offensive rebounds (2.9/g).
Smith and the Terps return to action Saturday, Dec. 22, when they host Seton Hall at 5:30 pm in College Park.
