
Terps to Play Four at Tiger Invite

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland will play its second non-conference tournament of this season this weekend when the Terps head to Auburn, Alabama for four games at the Tiger invite.
The Terps will play two games against host Auburn, in addition to Delaware and Saint Francis (PA). Maryland's games vs. Auburn on Saturday (Link) and Sunday (Link) will be available to stream via SEC Network+.
storylines
• Senior Skylynne Ellazar wasted no time getting her 2018 season underway on February 9, launching a home run in her first at bat of the year against Cal Poly. It was Ellazar's first homer since her sophomore year, setting the table for an eight-hit weekend where she finished with .615 batting average and .737 OBP. Ellazar notched her second career four-hit game the following day against Cal Poly, hitting four singles to tie her career single-game high.
• Freshman Hannah Eslick made her first career hit count, driving in the game-winning RBI against Middle Tennessee on February 11. It was just the second career at bat for the Glen Burnie, Md. native, who may see some time at third base and in pinch hit opportunities this season.
• Maryland will sport a young roster in 2018, with five sophomores returning and six freshmen that made their collegiate debuts during opening weekend at UCLA February 9-11.
• Sophomores Anna Kufta and Amanda Brashear were mainstays in the lineup as freshmen, as they both started in all 51 games.
• Kufta ranked first on the team in slugging percentage (.484), RBIs (26), home runs (6), triples (4), total bases (77) and second in runs scored (24).
• Brashear ranked first on the team in batting average (.304), hits (52), sac bunts (6), at bats (171), and total plate appearances (184) and finished with 15 multi-hit games.
• Wright's freshmen class features four players who earned All-American honors throughout their high school careers, with several in line for early playing time as the 2018 season gets underway.
