Kocher Wins Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. -- Senior David Kocher of the Maryland men's golf team went 11 strokes under par to win Auburn's Tiger Invitational Tuesday in Opelika, Ala.
Kocher (Charlotte, N.C.) shot a combined score of 205, after shooting a 67 in Sunday's first round, then 69 in the second and third rounds. This is his second collegiate individual title, after winning the Firestone Invitational in 2015.
As a team, the Terrapins finished fifth of 17 teams. They went just two strokes over par total, with a combined score of 866 (292-286-288).
Sophomore Bennett Buch (Sykesville, Md.) tied for 31st in the individual standings with his score of 219 (75-73-71), which was three strokes over. Sophomore Peter Knade (Easton, Md.) shot a 221 (72-71-78), which was +5.
Sophomore Evan Santa (Edgewater, Md.) earned a score of 224 (78-76-70) and junior Timothy Colanta shot a 234 (79-73-82).
Next, Maryland will compete in the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate April 9-10 in Nashville, Tenn.
