COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Indiana used 13 hits to seal a 10-1 win over Maryland on Friday in the opening game of the series. A five-run third inning helped the Hoosiers (16-24, 8-2 B1G) take control, while Maryland (16-25, 5-5 B1G) managed just four hits in the contest.

Indiana got to work early, rallying for two runs with two outs in the second inning. The visitors made their bones in the third inning, using four hits and two Terrapin errors to go ahead 7-0.

Maryland's lone run came in the bottom of the third, as Amanda Brashear scored after a fielder's choice from Skylynne Ellazar. That would be the only threatening inning, as UMD posted just two hits the remainder of the day.

The two teams will now play a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 1:00 pm. Impending weather expected Sunday in College Park has cancelled the game originally scheduled, as the teams will now complete the series Saturday.
