Terps Wrap Up Play at Rice Invitational

HOUSTON -- Maryland's Eva Alexandrova and Millie Stretton wrapped up play at the 2018 Rice Invitational on Sunday. The pair teamed up for a doubles victory, while Alexandrova also tallied a singles win on Sunday.
Alexandrova and Stretton -- who are ranked 22nd in the country as a doubles tandem -- took down Zivkovic/De La Luz Montalvo of Sam Houston State, 6-2, to earn their first victory of the fall campaign.
Alexandrova also closed out the weekend with her first singles triumph of the season, beating Vanja Klaric of South Florida, 6-2, 6-2. Stretton's final singles action of the weekend was not completed due to inclement weather.
The two will be back in action at the ITA All-American Championship after earning a spot in the Main Draw.
