COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Wednesday, Nov. 13, National Signing Day. Mark Montgomery, new head Maryland softball coach, sealed the deal with 7 signees in the class of 2020.
Megan Mikami
High School: Arnold O. Beckman High School, Irvine, CA
Position: Outfield
Megan Mikami has been a four-year Varsity starter at Arnold O. Beckman where she plays center field. As a freshman and sophomore, Megan earned the Offensive Player of the Year Award and was awarded the team's Most Valuable Player Award as a junior. Voted All-Pacific Coast League second team as a freshman, and All-League first team in her sophomore and junior years. Mikami's career batting average .433 with 62 stolen bases. Plays travel ball with the So Cal Athletics.

Montgomery's Take: "An amazing defensive player who gets great jumps on the ball. Hits for both power and can bunt and slap. Another triple threat because of her speed. She is capable of setting records here at Maryland."
Meadow Sacadura
High School: Bishop O'Connell
Position: Catcher
Meadow Sacadura was named an Extra Innings High School All-American. Sacadura is a 3-time state champion, as well as 3-time First-Team all WCAC athlete, and 3-time First-Team All-State. In her three years of varsity thus far, her batting average sits at a .468 on 89 hits and 74 RBI's. Sacadura plays for the Hanover Hornets travel team, and is also a NFCA Scholar Athlete.

Montgomery's Take: "A DMV kid with back to back State Championships. A catcher with developing power as a hitter. She does so many of the little things you want a catcher to do. Great receiver of the ball and a leader behind the plate."
Jada Smallwood

This past season she aided in her team winning their regional and district championships, coming up just short in the 9A State Championship. Jada plays travel ball for the Tampa Mustangs and is on Honor Roll.

Montgomery's take: "A tremendous power hitter that should also be able to hit for average. Jada is from another strong club program so she will be ready for college level play quickly. She is also very versatile on defense allowing her hitting to find her a spot in the line-up."
Abby Buettner

Montgomery's Take: "A pure hitter. Abby is a corner defensive player with the ability to hit at the highest level. She is an aggressive hitter that always seems to barrel the ball up. Look for Abby to have an immediate impact offensively."
Michaela Jones

In her freshman year, Jaeda played at Pearl City High School and was part of the "Hawaii OIA West" and "Hawaii All-State" first team. McFarland plays for the Jacksonville Storm Davis travel team.

Montgomery's Take: "One of the best athletes I have ever recruited. A legitimate 5 tool players. Jaeda is an outfielder who can do it all. With her addition look for Maryland to not only have one of the best outfields in the B1G, but to be among the elite in the entire country."
