WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
  • Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion when 2,225 fans attended Maryland's three-set loss to then-No. 5 Nebraska on Oct. 19, breaking the previous record of 1,848 set against Wisconsin on November 17, 2018. In the last three seasons, the Terps have set seven of the top-10 attendance records in program history.
  • The University of Maryland volleyball program reached its 1000th career win in Maryland's sweep of Appalachian State, while junior outside hitter Erika Pritchard tallied her 1000th career kill in the previous win over Kennesaw State. Pritchard now ranks 12th all time in career kills at Maryland
  • Maryland ranks first in the Big Ten and 27th nationally in total service aces with 153; also second in the Big Ten in aces/set (1.56s), while Katie Myers and Sam Snyder both lead the conference in total aces with 39 each.
  • Maryland ranks first in the Big Ten and 12th nationally in total blocks with 241, while Katie Myers leads the conference and ranks fifth in the NCAA with 133 blocks on the season. Myers also ranks second in the conference and 21st nationally with 1.36 blocks/set. Her 10 blocks in Maryland's three-set win vs. Kennesaw State was the most blocks by a single Maryland player in a three-set match since Ashlyn MacGregor had 14 vs. Sacred Heart on August 27, 2017
  • Myers is also hitting at over a .400 clip on the season (.418), good for third-highest in the Big Ten and 11th nationally.
  • Junior outside hitter Erika Pritchard ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 328 total kills on the season. She also ranks ninth in the conference with 3.35 kills/set
  • Maryland has gotten a lot of contributions from its freshmen this season. Freshman outside hitter Rebekah Rath has made an immediate impact since stepping foot on campus, starting in 14 matches this season while ranking third on the team in kills with 206 (2.10/set), and fourth in aces with 20 (0.20/set). Rath is younger than most college freshmen, reclassifying her high school graduation class and joining the Terps a year earlier than expected.
  • Defensive specialist Lexy Finnerty has also gotten a good amount of time on the floor in the DS rotation. Finnerty has appeared in 11 matches (26 sets), recording 17 digs (0.65/s) on the season.
  • Middle blocker Cara Lewis joins the Terps after playing her high school career at nearby Bowie HS. Lewis has appeared in six matches this season (six sets) and has recorded five kills and five blocks so far through her freshman campaign.
  • Head coach Adam Hughes has emphasized keeping local talent in the area since coming to Maryland as an assistant coach in 2014. Nearly half the Terps roster is from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia), with eight of the 17 Terps hailing from the area: Senior defensive specialist Nell Drummey (Silver Spring, Md.), junior outside hitter Erika Pritchard (Middletown, Md.), junior outside hitter Hailey Rubino (Leesburg, Va.), junior setter Chloe Prejean (Clear Spring, Md), junior setter Nicole Alford (Annapolis, Md.), sophomore outside hitter Emma Schriner (Williamsburg, Va.), sophomore middle blocker Rainelle Jones (Oxon Hill, Md.), and freshman middle blocker Cara Lewis (Bowie, Md.)
  • A bevy of Terps set career- and season-highs in Maryland's thrilling come-from-behind five-set win over Indiana earlier this season. Allegra Rivas posted 32 digs, tying her career-best while also setting the highest mark for a Big Ten player on the season. She didn't have a single reception error on the night, limiting the Hoosiers to .105 hitting, while also contributing six assists. Katie Myers was also spectacular, notching a career-high 21 kills on the night, the second-highest kill total by a middle blocker in the Big Ten this season, while adding seven blocks and two aces on the night. Jada Gardner tallied her highest kill total of the season with 13, and Nicole Alford led the team with 30 assists, the most assists by any Maryland player all season.
