The Terps have earned better than a 195 in each of their last three meets. Last week Maryland earned a new season-best on bars (49.250) to improve their overall rank to No. 18 in the event. All six bars competitors earned 9.825s or better in the event led by junior
Kirsten Peterman who earned her season-best 9.875.
"I was really proud of them," said head coach
Brett Nelligan. "They came out firing right from the start and that's what we need to keep doing."
This is the fifth time the Terps have competed at the Big Five meet since joining the Big Ten Conference. Their all-time high in the meet is a 195.700.
Junior
Tiara Wright is slated to return to the lineup after missing last week's meet due to illness. Wright posted 9.825 or better in both her events in the season-best win over Ohio State.

Scouting the Opponents
Penn State
- The No. 24 Nittany Lions earned a 194.750 on Saturday at home, but dropped a decision against No. 8 Michigan, 197.075-194.750. The Nittany Lions finished the meet on floor, registering a 48.850.
- Penn State earned a 48.900 on vault, 48.325 on bars, 48.675 on beam and a 48.850 on floor.
Iowa
- Iowa notched a season-high team score, but fell to Illinois, 195.650-195.400, on Saturday evening at home.
- The GymHawks registered season-high scores on bars (49.200), and floor (49.400).
- Two gymnasts earned 9.900s or better on bars (Jax Kranitz and Nicole Chow) followed by three 9.900s on floor (Erin Castle, Clair Kaji and Lauren Guerin)
Michigan State
- Michigan State posted a season-high team score and won all four events on the way to defeating Rutgers 195.425-194.100.
- The Spartans scored a season-high 48.925 on the balance beam and tied their season-high of 49.200 on the floor exercise in the victory over the Scarlet Knights.
Nebraska
- The No. 15 Nebraska women's gymnastics defeated the No. 22 Ohio State Buckeyes, 196.400-195.750. This is their third Big Ten victory of the season.
- Junior Taylor Houchin won the vault and balance beam titles with scores of 9.90 on both events and senior Sienna Crouse won the floor exercise title with a career high score of 9.95.
