COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland gymnastics team earned their best score of the season with a 195.950 to secure a victory over No. 20 Ohio State 195.950-194.250. The Terps soared to new heights with season-best scores on bars (49.175) and floor (49.075).
"They believed in themselves," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "They made a commitment to each other that after our last home meet that we were going to change and do everything as a team and it showed in their performances and on the sideline. They are a unit."
The Terps gave the home crowd their strongest showing of the season in the blackout meet led by sophomore Audrey Barber who for the second week took the all-around title tallying a 39.050.
Both freshmen Sanya Glauber and Alexsis Rubio had strong showings, both earning 9.825s on their respective events of bars and vault.
The strongest performance of the day for the Terrapins came on their best event, bars. Sophomore Emilie LeBlanc led the Terps off with a stunning performance earning a 9.875, matching her season-best. Junior Tiara Wright also dazzled the crowd with her season-best bars routine, matching LeBlanc's 9.875. Barber contributed to the high flying Terps score with a 9.850 of her own.

The high scores didn't stop there as the Terrapins finished strong on floor. Senior Alex Robinson made her second appearance in teh floor lineup this year to match her career best 9.800. The scores gradually increased from there with sophomore Sabriyya Rouse dancing her way to a 9.825, Barber remaining consistent with a steady 9.850 and Burgess brought the crowd to their feet scoring a career-best 9.875.
"It was awesome," said Nelligan. "This is what gymnastics should be. All the fans, high energy, loud crowd, this is what it should be."
