ROSEMONT, Ill. – After another productive week, Maryland freshman Maxwell Costes earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday.
Costes helped the Terps go 3-1 on the week with a midweek victory over Delaware and series win at Stetson. The freshman slashed .353/.450/.765 with seven RBIs and the first two home runs of his career. He notched a career-high five RBIs against Stetson on Saturday,
He now leads the conference with 15 RBIs and is third with 28 total bases. He ranks in the top-15 in average, slugging and on-base percentage in the conference.
Maryland return to action Wednesday at Delaware. First pitch is set for 3 p.m., and fans can listen to the action on the Maryland Baseball Network.
