COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Six players had multiple hits on the day as the Terps combined for 13 hits and nine runs in a definitive win over the Bryant Bulldogs.
Kiana Carr secured her second win in the circle in as many days, pitching four scoreless innings, only allowing one hit, and striking out four batters.
Maryland hammered in runs early and often, scoring three in the first on a Voulgaris RBI single, Boyd RBI double and Stefan RBI single. Kufta added another in the second on an RBI groundout, and in the third, Boyd hit a solo homer to make it 5-0.
Still holding Bryant to no score, the Terps added more runs in the fourth from a Brashear RBI single, an error which scored Kerr and Brashear, and a Stefan RBI double which made it 9-0.
Bryant scored two runs in the fifth to avoid a run-rule victory for the Terps, but would be blanked as freshman Amelia Jarecke pitched the last inning and clinched the win for Maryland.
The Terps play their last game of the Maryland Invitational tomorrow at 3 p.m. against Villanova.
