PISCATAWAY, NJ – A season-best 13 different players scored goals as the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (12-0, 3-0 B1G) routed Rutgers, 20-3 on Saturday afternoon.

""It was a great day," said head coach Cathy Reese. "We saw a lot of things from a lot of people and they all did a really good job to limit Rutgers to three goals. That was phenomenal."

This win marks the 260^th in head coach Cathy Reese's time at Maryland, tying her former coach Cindy Timchal for the most wins ever by a women's lacrosse coach at Maryland. Reese, in her 13^th season, is now 260-21.

Junior Brindi Griffin led Maryland, tying a career-high with four goals to lead the way for the 13 different goal scorers. Seniors Jen Giles and Meghan Siverson, sophomore Kylie Davis and freshman Hannah Glaros all had two goals. Sophomore Catie May and freshman Julia Hoffman had three points on a goal and two assists.

Senior Megan Taylor had yet another incredible game in goal, playing the first half and making six saves to only one goal allowed, an .857 percentage. Now at 113 saves and only 74 goals allowed this season, Taylor has a nation-best .604 save percentage.

Eight different Terps scored goals in the first half led by B. Griffin's three. Giles had two and Kali Hartshorn, Caroline Steele, Erica Evans, Meghan Siverson, Grace Griffin and Catie May all had one.

Freshman Maddie McSally replaced Taylor in goal in the second half and was also impressive saving four shots to only two goals allowed, a .667 percentage.

The Terps won the draw control battle 16-7, with Hartshorn going against her sister, Marin for a majority of it and leading the way with seven. Junior Lizzie Colson followed that with four of her own.

Maryland's defense was strong, forcing 10 Rutgers turnovers and allowing a Scarlet Knight season-low in goals. The Terps went on runs of 10-0 spanning 32 minutes and ended the game on a 6-0 run in the final 13 minutes.

This win moves Maryland to 25-0 all-time in Big Ten regular season contests. Next up, the Terps will travel to No. 7 Virginia, on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
