COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Terps competed at several venues this weekend with some tune up performances as the outdoor season progresses.
Out on the West Coast, Greg Thompson notched a sixth place finish and was the top collegiate finisher at the Triton Invitational. Thompson threw 60.90m (199'9").
Several distance athletes competed at the Hopkins Invite in Baltimore on Friday afternoon. Caroline Augelli placed third in the 5000m run with a time of 18:25.67. In the women's 1500m run, Emily McAllister placed 4th (4:53.61) and Jasmine Tiamfook placed 5th (4:55.27). Courtney Mann also finished in the top 10 (4:56.55). Gaby Go rounded out the group with a time of 5:00.47.
William Jones was the runner up at Hopkins in the men's 1500m run. Jones posted a time of 4:00.87. Jared Loadholt also competed in this event for the Terps.
At Saturday's Bucknell Bison Classic, Alexandra Lucki tackled the 5000m and ran her way to a record-setting time. The senior now holds the top spot in the Maryland record books after winning this event in 16:20.01. Lucki broke the school record previously set 32 years ago by Carolyn Forde. Julia Reicin competed in the 3000m steeplechase for the first time in her collegiate career. Reicin crossed the line in 11:35.94. Christine Laurie competed in the 1500m invitational event and set a new season best time of 4:25.56.
Gwendolyn Zeckowski competed in the pole vault at the George Mason Spring Invitational. Zeckowski vaulted 11.57m (11' 8.50"). Chris Spiess also competed in the vault at this competition jumping 4.52m.Â
