Qualified for finals and finished sixth in the men's shot put competition at the Nittany Lion Challenge (16.18m)... Finished 13th in the men’s shot put at the Simmons-Harvey Big Ten Invitational (15.26m)

2018 Outdoor: Placed first in discus throw at the 2018 Maryland invitational (55.54m)... Placed second in discus throw at USF Bulls invitational (56.76m)... Placed third in discus throw at the Florida Relays (57.99m)... Placed first in discus throw in Virginia v. Maryland, Bucknell, Georgetown (55.36m)... Placed first in discus throw at the Virginia Challenge (60.81m)... Threw discus for 61.29m at Penn Relays 2018… Placed first in discus throw at Kehoe Twilight Meet 2018 (60.24)... Placed fourth in discus throw at the 2018 Big Ten Championships (60.19m)... Placed second in discus throw at the NCAA East Preliminary Round (59.24m)... 2018 Indoor: Placed second in shot put at the Terrapin invitational 2018 (16.51m)... Placed third in shot put at the 2018 Wesley A. Brown Men’s Invitational (15.31m)... Finished 20th in shot put at the 2018 Frank Sevigne Husker Invite (15.48m)

2017 Outdoor: Competed at ten events in the discus throw…won the event throwing 54.26m at the Maryland Invitational (3/18)…placed 1st (58.70m) at the UNF Spring Break Invitational (3/24)…finished in 4th place throwing 57.14m at the Florida Relays (3/30-4/1)…took 1st place (57.84m) at the Virginia Quad (4/8)…finished in 1st throwing 54.35m at the Larry Ellis Invitational (4/21-22)…set a career high with a first place finish (60.28m) at the Kehoe Twilight Meet (5/5)…finished in 4th place (57.67m) at the Big Ten Championships (5/12-14)…qualified for the NCAA Division 1 East Preliminary Round (5/25-27) where he finished 10th throwing 56.52m…ended the season finishing 15th throwing 56.01m at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track Championships (6/7-10).

2017 Indoor: Did not compete at any events.

2016: Did not compete this season. 

Before Maryland: Threw for Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers…captured the 2013 British Junior Indoor and Outdoor Shot Put Championships…notched the silver medal in the British Junior Outdoors…was a finalist in the discus at the European Junior Championships…nabbed the silver medal in the South of England Senior Championships in the discus.

Personal: Son of Neville Thompson and Maria Sotiriou…coached by his father…has six siblings…earned the bronze in the 2012 UK Math Challenge…throws in the local community and schools to encourage participation in track and field…lists his favorite pregame meal as coffee and porridge…lists his nickname as Afro Thunder.
