COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland baseball team faces a must-win series against Iowa in the final regular season set of the season. The Terps currently sit 10th in the Big Ten standings and must jump to eighth to gain entry into the Big Ten Tournament. All three games will be streamed on BTN Plus.
- Iowa leads the all-time series against the Terps 6-2, with all eight matchups coming since the teams entered the Big Ten. Iowa won the only series the two teams have played in College Park in 2015.
- Senior Randy Bednar has emerged as one of the best hitters in the Big Ten. Over the course of his 10-game hitting streak, Bednar is slashing .429/.500/.738 with three home runs and 10 RBIs. Bednar is the first Terp to record 50 RBIs in a season since 2015.
- Senior right-hander John Murphy is starting to climb up Maryland's all-time saves list. Murphy has 15 for his career which puts him fifth all-time in school history. With another save, Murphy would sit in a tie for third (Charles Devereux/Dan Gentzler). Murphy's 10 saves this season makes him one of three players in Maryland history to reach double digit saves in a season (Kevin Mooney, Brett Cecil).
- Hunter Parsons leads the Big Ten with nine wins, a mark that is 3rd all-time in Maryland history. With his ninth win, Parsons joined Mike Shawaryn as the only pitcher in Maryland history to notch nine or more wins in a season.
