
Terps Mourn Passing of Larry Dick ('77)

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- It is with sadness that the Maryland Football Family announces the passing of former Terps quarterback, Larry Dick.
At Maryland, Dick majored in business administration and led the Terps to a pair of bowl wins.
He finished his career ranked sixth all-time at Maryland in completion percentage (58.8). He also ranks top 25 in program history in career passing yards (2,601), completions (180) and passing touchdowns (13).
A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Dick attended Parkdale High School and lived in New Carrollton, Maryland. During Dick's time at Parkdale, the Panthers compiled a 29-0-1 record.
During his sophomore season at Maryland in 1975, Dick led the Terps to a 9-2-1 record and a victory over Florida in the Gator Bowl. He completed 90 of 158 passes that season with only two interceptions.
Dick then went on to play two seasons (1978-79) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
After his playing career concluded, Dick worked in the insurance business. Dick was 64 years old and is survived by his sisters, Audrey and Joan, and son, Zachary.
Funeral services will be held on May 13 at 2 p.m. at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Service Care at 814 Bestgate Road in Annapolis.
