Lynch, Schettig Named to U19 National Rosters

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Two Terps, rising sophomore Kennedy Lynch and incoming freshman Emma Schettig were selected for the final U19 rosters for their respective countries and will compete in the 2019 Women's Lacrosse U19 World Championship in Peterborough, ON, from Aug. 1-10.
Lynch was one of 18 athletes selected for the Canadian National Team, while Schettig is one of 18 athletes that will represent the United States in Canada. Lynch was selected from a pool of 26 players in the final Canadian Training Camp, while Schettig was selected from a pool of 24.
Schettig, a midfielder who is currently the No. 6 ranked incoming freshmen in the country by Inside Lacrosse, played high school lacrosse at McDonogh and was named an Under Armour All-American. Lynch, also a midfielder, played for Garrison Forrest High School and appeared in two games during her freshman season for the National Champion 2019 Terps.
Canada won the 2015 U19 Championship, the U.S. won the four previous (1999, 2003, 2007, 2011) and Australia won the inaugural title in 1995. 2019 graduate Erica Evans played on the Canadian team that won the 2015 title while 2017 graduate Theo Kwas competed for the Australian team.
