COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 8 Maryland gymnastics team returns home to host Big Ten rival Iowa on Sunday, January 19 at 4 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. The meet will be available to stream on BTN Plus and live stats will be available here. The meet has been moved back from its original time at noon due to travel delays.
The GymTerps return home after earning the best opening score in program history (196.150) at the Little Boston Invitational. Maryland also notched its highest ranking (No. 8) in program history.
The Terrapins are nationally ranked in three of four events, vault (5th), bars (13th) and beam (15th). Maryland had three individual competitors place in the top-25, junior Audrey Barber in the all-around (14th), and senior Alecia Farina and sophomore Alexsis Rubio tied for 16th on vault.
Three freshmen made their collegiate debuts leading off on all events. Reese McClure led the way earning 9.825s on vault, beam and floor. Emma Silberman earned a 9.825 on vault and a 9.775 on bars. Aleka Tsiknias led off the Terrapins on bars earning a 9.750.
Barber dazzled in all events earning a 9.800 on all four events. She swept the awards category with her individual all-around score of 39.325.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are currently ranked No. 35 in the nation. Iowa has bested the Terrapins in all five regular-season meets between the teams since Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014.
The Hawkeyes enter College Park after earning a season-best score of 195.550. The Hawkeye's best event is floor which they hold the No. 15 spot nationally.

Pride Meet: All members of The Pride will be encouraged to wear all red!
Poster Making Contest: Fans will be encouraged to make posters at the marketing table to cheer on the GymTerps. They can take pictures with their poster and submit them via Twitter. A winner will be chosen, given a prize pack, and shown on the videoboard.
Autograph Session: Fans are invited to stick around after the meet for an autograph session with the GymTerps.
