No. 19 GymTerps to Host No. 22 Illinois Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 19 Maryland Gymnastics will host the No. 22 Fighting Illini on Sunday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the XFINITY Center. THe meet will be broadcast live on BTN. Live stats will be available here. (Password: terps )
Maryland enter its fourth meet of the season with a 4-1 overall record and 1-1 in the Big Ten. The Terps currently sit at No. 19 in the nation overall and are ranked nationally in three events: vault (12), bars (9) and floor exercise (22).
Maryland comes off a season-best vault performance in Ohio State, earning a 49.250. Sophomore Alexsis Rubio anchored the Terrapins and notched a career-best 9.900.
The Terps have relied heavily upon their freshmen class, primarily Reese McClure, Emma Silberman and Aleka Tsiknias. McClure and Tsiknias both lead off on two respective events. The trio of freshmen are expected to have a large presence in this week's lineup for the Terps.
The Illinois Fighting Iliini are currently ranked No. 22 in the nation. Illinois has bested the Terrapins in all three regular-season meets between the teams since Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014.

GIRLSCOUT DAY: Girlscouts are invited to attend the meet and receive a Maryland Scouts Patch.
OLYMPICS DAY: In honor of the upcoming Summer Olympics, fans will participate in Olympic-themed contests between rotations to win Terps gold, silver, and bronze medals.
POSTER MAKING CONTEST: Fans will be encouraged to make posters at the marketing table to cheer on the GymTerps. They can take pictures with their poster and submit them via Twitter.
