Baseball to Hold Inaugural Leadoff Brunch

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland Baseball program will hold its inaugural Leadoff Brunch on Saturday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the President's Suite in Tyser Tower at Maryland Stadium. The Brunch will take place prior to the Maryland Men's Basketball Game vs. Purdue at 2:00 p.m.

The Leadoff Brunch replaces the program's annual Leadoff Banquet, and will serve as the official kickoff of Maryland's 2020 season, which begins Feb. 14 vs. Charleston Southern in Charleston, S.C.

The brunch will include a wide selection of food, an open bar, and a silent auction. Washington Nationals General Manager and World Series Champion Mike Rizzo, as well as other current and former major league players, will be in attendance. The event also serves as an opportunity for Maryland Baseball families and supporters to meet the players and coaches and show support for the program.

Attendees can choose from two different registration options: Brunch Only ($75) or Brunch + Basketball ($125). All basketball tickets will be seated together in sections 119 to 122 of the XFINITY Center. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP at: ter.ps/brunch20

The Terps finished the 2019 campaign 29-29, ending the season at the Big Ten Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. The team returns last year's Big Ten Freshman of the Year in Maxwell Costes, second team All-Big Ten honoree Randy Bednar, and third team/freshman team honoree Michael Pineiro. Costes was recently named a third team preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball Magazine.
