Get to Know: LaRen Blakesley

The Maryland women's lacrosse program welcomes seven new players to the fold as part of its 2020 freshman class as the Terps work towards their 2021 season. Over the next several weeks, umterps.com will get to know each of the seven newcomers. This week, we meet LaRen Blakesley.

Blakesley hails from Canandaigua, NY, playing her high school lacrosse at Canandaigua Academy. The attacker tallied 159 points over two and a half seasons for the Braves, helping lead her team to Sectional Titles in 2017 and 2019. Blakesley was named First Team All-County in 2017 & 2018.

Why did you choose Maryland?

I chose Maryland because of the support the coaches extend to each and every player, the family atmosphere they provide, along with the quality of education I receive here.

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?

Winning sectionals with my high school team in 2019.
