CHAPEL HILL, NC. -- The No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team dropped a top-five road battle to No. 1 North Carolina, 19-6 on Saturday.

- Senior Brindi Griffin and junior Hannah Warther each had two goals for Maryland.
- Freshman Kate Sites scored her first career goal, going coast to coast in the first half to make the score 4-3 North Carolina.
- The Terps were only down three, 7-4 at halftime, before being outscored 12-3 in the second half.
- This is the first time ever that Maryland has lost two-consecutive games under Cathy Reese. It happened last when Maryland lost three straight to end the 2006 season.
- No. 3 Maryland will play its second-straight road game against a top-10 opponent when it travels to No. 7 Syracuse on Friday, February 28 at 3:00 p.m.
