COLLEGE PARK, Md. –
Aaron Wiggins dropped a game-high 21 points, while five Terrapins finished in double figures as Maryland (8-6) cruised to a 100-58 win over Division II Wingate (6-4) Friday afternoon.
Galin Smith (13) paced the hosts inside, while Darryl Morsell and Hakim Hart added 11 points each. Â
The game served as a late addition to UMD's schedule after Saturday's matchup with Nebraska was postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test within the program.
Maryland shot 60% from the field in the victory, pouring in 53 points in the second half to keep a double-digit cushion throughout the final 20 minutes of play.
The Terps finished 12-26 from three-point land, led by four makes from Wiggins and a pair of three pointers each from Hart and freshman James Graham III. Graham, a mid-season high school transfer, would finish with a career-high 10 points in just his third career college game.
Graham was one of four Terps to record his first career points in a Maryland jersey, joining Arnaud Revaz and walk-ons Aidan McCool and Jade Brahmbhatt in the box score. Â
Maryland will resume Big Ten play Tuesday, Jn. 19 when the Terps face No. 7 Michigan on the road in Ann Arbor, Mich. The game will air on FS1 and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Â Â Â Â
