PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The No. 25 Maryland Gymnastics (3-1, 1-0 B1G) team swept the first-place slot in all five-events Saturday afternoon.

The Terps posted a 194.925 team score and led Rutgers (192.750) the entire meet. Senior Audrey Barber won the all-around title with a final score of 39.350.

Both Barber and fellow senior, Sabriyya Rouse earned the meet's highest score of 9.900.

What You Need To Know

The Terps won first place in all four events and the all-around.
Maryland had six gymnasts earn a total of 10 podium finishes.
Event scores: Vault: 48.825 // Bars:48.275 // Beam: 48.825 // Floor: 49.00
The Terps finished in first place with a 194.975-192.750 defeat over Rutgers, giving Maryland their first conference win of the season.

Setting the Bar Higher

Vault:

Junior Alexsis Rubio placed first in the event with a 9.850.
Senior Collea Burgess also finished on podium with a final score of 9.775.
Sophomore Emma Silberman earned a season best 9.700.
Barber and sophomore McClure tied for fourth with 9.750s.

Bars:

Barber took the title in the event earning a 9.900.
Sophomore Aleka Tsiknias matched her season-best 9.875 which was enough to tie for second place.
Sophomore Sophia LeBlanc set a career-high 9.750.

Beam:

Barber had another dominant performance on beam posting a season-best 9.875 and placing first in the event.
Burgess tied for the second-place slot after matching her career-best 9.800.
Freshman Olivia Weir matched her personal best 9.725.

Floor:

Rouse took the crown with an impressive 9.900. This matches Rouse's career-best.
Barber took third place with a 9.825.
Rubio entered the lineup in place of McClure and set a career-best 9.725.

All-Around

Barber ran away with the first place all-around title for the second meet in a row. She earned a 39.350, her second best AA score of the season.
Silberman placed third with a respectable 38.925.

Coach's Comments

"It is definitely that bittersweet feeling, I mean wins on the road, the Big Ten are always great. We're never going to be disappointed in paving the road with a win. We will feel like we left an opportunity to put up a big score. We were happy with the win and we know there's room where we can make some improvement."

"I think working on those details this week did help us, because, if you look at the routines we hit, they were better they were cleaner they were sharper. If you eliminate one of those two falls on bars, I mean you're looking at an 8/10 jump so we would have put up a 195.700. Those details helped and beam certainly improved. I think we were really paying close attention to details on both floor and bars as well."
