Maryland Gymnastics Releases 2021-22 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Maryland gymnastics has released its 2021-22 season schedule, as announced by head coach Brett Nelligan on Monday. 

"We are excited about this year's schedule," Nelligan said. "We have some really exciting home matchups and we can't wait to see all of Terp Nation in the stands once again."

The Terps will face all nine Big Ten opponents, host two quad and three dual meets at home, and compete on the road for six meets before heading to the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. Maryland will first compete amongst one another in its annual intrasquad and Red vs. Black meets, to be held Nov. 19 and Dec. 12, respectively. Maryland will then hit the road and head to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to compete against Pitt and LIU in a tri-meet on Sunday, Jan. 16.

The Gym Terps will kick off their Big Ten and home slates against Rutgers on Saturday, Jan. 22 at noon, followed by No. 8 Minnesota a week later on Sunday, Jan. 30 at noon in College Park.

Maryland then travels to East Lansing, Michigan, to compete against the Michigan State Spartans, on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.. Maryland returns home to face Nebraska on Friday, Feb, 11 at 7 p.m. in XFINITY Center.  The annual Big Five Elevate the Stage meet will occur in Toledo, Ohio, on Friday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. where the Terps will compete against conference foes No. 17 Iowa, recent NCAA Champions and No. 1 Michigan, No. 16 Ohio State, and No. 20 Illinois. The Terps stay on the road the following weekend to face the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, Fev. 26 at 1:30 p.m.

The Gym Terps' March slate begins in Philadelphia as Maryland takes on Temple, SCSU, and Bridgerport on Thursday, March 3 at 6 p.m. Maryland then returns home to host NC State, Yale, and William & Mary on Sunday, March 6 at 1 pm in XFINITY Center. Five days later, the Terps travel to Towson to compete against the Tigers and George Washington at 6 p.m. On Sunday, March 13, Maryland hosts its final home and regular season meet against George Washington, Penn, and Bridgeport at noon. 

The Big Ten Championships are set to be held in Iowa City, Iowa beginning on Saturday, March 19. The NCAA first, second, and third rounds will be held the weekend of March 30 - April 2, with the semis and finals occurring in Forth Worth, Texas, April 14-16. The full schedule can be found here
