Terrapins to Play 13 Nationally Televised Games

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland women's basketball team will play 13 games on national television, including 10 of its Big Ten matchups and its Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup vs. Miami.
The Terrapins will play four games on ESPN or ESPN2, including their Dec. 12 matchup with South Carolina as part of the Jimmy V Classic. The Terps' matchup at Indiana (Jan. 2), vs. Michigan (Jan. 16) and at Iowa (Feb. 14) will be televised on ESPN2.
Ten of Maryland's matchups will be televised around the world on the Big Ten Network, including the Terps' Nov. 21 game vs. Baylor and Dec. 2 matchup with Miami.
The opening rounds of the Big Ten Tournament through the Semifinals will also be televised on the Big Ten Network, with the Big Ten Championship game on March 6 televised on ESPN2.

The Terrapins, who were ranked No. 5 in ESPN's Way Too Early Top-25, will play one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. Maryland will face three of the other four top-five teams in South Carolina, defending national champion Stanford and Baylor, as well as No. 8 NC State, in its non-conference slate.
Maryland returns all five starters, all five All-Big Ten honorees and 10 of 11 letterwinners from last year's Big Ten Championship squad. The Terrapins return their top eight leading scorers from last year's squad, which led the nation in scoring with 90.8 points per game and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen. Rising juniors Ashley Owusu and Diamond Miller are Maryland's leading returning scorers. They both earned All-Big Ten First Team honors and were Big Ten Tournament Co-MOPs.
The Terrapins will officially open the new season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 vs. Longwood for their annual Field Trip Day game.
Maryland will host Fairmont State in its first of two exhibitions on Friday, Oct. 29 and Georgia Court in its second exhibition on Thursday, Nov. 4.
