The Equalizer
• Maryland senior Mikayla Dayes scored with 1:07 left in the second half to tie the game at 1-1 as her shot deflected off a Spartan and inside the left post. It was Dayes ninth career goal, after scoring five last year.
• The Spartans took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Gia Wahlberg, 62:45 into the action, in the second half. Wahlberg was MSU's top scorer last year with nine goals.

Between The Pipes
• Redshirt freshman Kennedy Tolson made her first-career start, playing the first half and recording two saves and not allowing a goal.
• Sophomore Nicole Kwoczka played the second half and all of overtime, picking up the decision.
Season-Opening Success
• The Terps are unbeaten in their last four season openers, winning the last three and tying this 2021 opener vs. Michigan State.
• Since 1995, Maryland is 19-4-3 in its season openers.
110-Minute Terps
• In the double-overtime game, six Terps played the entire 110 minutes: Catherine DeRosa, Sydney Staier, Milan Pierre-Jerome, Alexis Hogarth, Anissa Mose and Adalee Broadbent.
