COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time this season with a pair of games at Purdue (Feb. 25) and Northwestern (Feb. 28). The Terps are coming off a 1-1 tie with Michigan State this past Saturday, scoring in the 89th minute to secure a point.
THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES

Maryland senior Mikayla Dayes scored with 1:07 left in the second half to tie the game at 1-1 as her shot deflected off a Spartan and inside the left post. It was Dayes ninth career goal, after scoring five last year.

Redshirt junior Alyssa Poarch, senior Malikae Dayes and senior Mikayla Dayes were all named players to watch by the Big Ten in a release made by the conference last week.
- Maryland is 2-3 all-time vs. Purdue since the series between the two schools began in 2014. Maryland defeated Purdue 2-1 in College Park when the teams last met on October 20, 2019.
- The Terps are 1-3-1 all-time vs. Northwestern since the series began in 2014. Maryland upset then-No. 14 Northwestern 2-1 on October 7, 2018 at Ludwig Field.

Ray Leone in his fifth season at the helm for Maryland, a season removed from leading Maryland to its best-ever finish in the B1G. UMD finished 9-8-3 in 2019 and earned a trip to the school's first-ever Big Ten Tournament. The Terps went 5-5-1 in league play to finish sixth in the conference, the highest for a Maryland team.

The Terps return all 10 of their goal scorers from 2019, including Alyssa Poarch, who bagged eight goals and had three assists for Maryland. Mikayla Dayes (5) and Loren Sefcik (3) are also back, while Hope Lewandoski and Adalee Broadbent each recorded two goals during the 2019 campaign.
