2021 Maryland Women's Lacrosse Schedule Released

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Big Ten released the 2021 women's lacrosse schedule on Thursday afternoon. 
 
Maryland will play a 12-game, conference only schedule in, facing each of the six other teams twice over 10 weeks. 
 
The Terps will open their season next Sunday, February 14 at Homewood Field, where Maryland won the 2019 National Championship, against Johns Hopkins. The following week Maryland will head to #21 Penn State to face the Nittany Lions on February 21.
 
Maryland will kick off its home slate with two top-10 matchups against #9 Michigan. The Terps will face the Wolverines on February 26 and February 28 at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. 
 
After two bye weeks, Maryland will be back in action as it welcomes Ohio State to The Plex for two games on Friday, March 19 and Sunday, March 21. 
 
The Terps will travel to #5 Northwestern for a pair of games the following week, facing the Wildcats in Evanston on March 26 and March 28.
 
Maryland will play its first of two games against Rutgers on April 9 before heading to Penn State for the second time two days later on April 11.
 
The regular season will conclude with a home contest at The Plex against Johns Hopkins on April 16 and a road battle at Rutgers on April 18. 
 
The Big Ten Tournament will be played at Penn State from Thursday, April 29 to Sunday, May 2. 
 
Times and television information for the announced games will be revealed at a later date.
 
Maryland begins the 2021 season ranked seventh in the IWLCA Preseason Poll. The Terps will play six of its 12 games against teams that also begin the year also ranked in the preseason poll. 
 
Through five seasons in the Big Ten, Maryland has never lost a regular season game, standing at 28-0 all-time with five Big Ten Regular Season Championships. Including the Big Ten Tournament, the Terps are 35-2 against Big Ten competition since 2015. 
 
The season will begin with no fans in attendance at Maryland athletic events out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student-athletes and fans. Maryland athletics is hopeful that some fans will be welcomed to on-campus venues as the season progresses and health conditions permit.
