COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The 10
th-ranked Maryland field hockey team picked up its third straight win with a 3-1 victory over Indiana Sunday afternoon at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. With the win, the Terrapins (5-3, 3-2 B1G) swept the weekend series with the Hoosiers (0-9, 0-6).
Â
"When you play a team twice like this, it's a question of if they're going to come out with the same strategy and tactics and they actually did," head coach
Missy Meharg said. "They did it a lot better than they did Friday night and and we didn't respond well. Our first two quarters were choppy. Our receiving, our ball speed was super slow, so we played into their hands. But I'm very, very pleased with the women. After halftime, they made the adjustment on ball speed and made better decisions with their individual defense. The women found a way to win the match and really proud of Riley for finding the net twice."
