Geppert, Malever Garner Big Ten Weekly Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior LSM John Geppert and freshman Eric Malever were both named to the Big Ten Team of the Week in a release made by the conference offices today.
Geppert earned his second career honor as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after a career day at Ohio State this past weekend. The Washington, D.C. native scored a goal and notched an assist, while tying his career-high for ground balls (4) and causing a turnover. Geppert helped anchor a defense that held Ohio State to a season-low eight goals, and his goal in the third quarter turned in to the eventual game-winner for the Terps.
Malever was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week after scoring a career-high two goals in Maryland's 16-8 win over Ohio State. Malever also picked up two ground balls in the victory.
The Maryland lacrosse team returns to action this Sunday, March 28 when the team travels to face #5 Rutgers. Faceoff at SHI Stadium is scheduled for noon and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
