
#3 Maryland Faces #5 Rutgers on the Road

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The third-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team (5-0) is back in action this Sunday, March 28 for a rematch with fifth-ranked Rutgers (4-1) in Piscataway, N.J. The game faceoff at noon and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
The teams met in week four of the Big Ten regular season, with Maryland using a bruising eight-goal fourth quarter to defeat the Scarlet Knights, 19-12.
RUTGERS STORYLINES

Maryland has been a force in the second half of games this season, outscoring opponents 47-21 in the second half through four games for a +26 point differential. In their last two games, the Terps have outscored opponents 14-3 in the fourth quarter.

Senior Logan Wisnauskas is now Maryland's all-time leader in 8+ point games after a career-best 9-point (2G, 7A) outing against #20 Johns Hopkins. The senior has posted five games of 8+ points as a Terp, passing Bob Boneillo (4) for the most 8+ point games in program history. For his efforts, Wisnauskas was named the U.S. Lacrosse National Player of the Week, a USILA Team of the Week honoree and the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
- Maryland is 31-1 all-time against Rutgers and 8-0 against the Scarlet Knights since joining the Big Ten. The teams first met in 1931 and Maryland won 18 straight games until Rutgers got its first win in the series in 1980.
- The Terps have won 13 straight since then, most recently on March 13. Seven different Terps combined to score 10 goals in the second half to propel the #3 Maryland to a 19-12 victory over #4 Rutgers in College Park.
- With 150 career goals scored, Jared Bernhardt is now just five goals away from tying Matt Rambo's record (155) at Maryland. Rambo currently ranks 8th in the country in goals per game (3.8).

After defeating Ohio State 16-8 last weekend in Columbus, head coach John Tillman has now amassed 50 career road victories at Maryland. Tillman is 50-12 all-time a UMD in road games for a .806 winning percentage.
