Terps and Wildcats Face Off Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's soccer team will look to win its fourth consecutive match when it takes on Northwestern Saturday afternoon. The match will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network and kickoff at 4 p.m.
The Terrapins have rallied back to a 3-3 record after starting the season 0-3. The Terps will play an all Big Ten slate in 2021 after the postponement of the season from the fall of 2020.

The Terps are 4-3-0 against Northwestern all-time, with all seven meetings coming since the Terps entered the Big Ten prior to the 2014 season. The teams split a pair of meetings last year, with the Wildcats beating the Terps, 3-1, in the regular season and the Terps beating Northwestern, 1-0, in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals.

Senior captain Paul Bin, has rounded into form with three goals in the last two matches, including a brace against Michigan State. For his efforts, Bin was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on March 23. His three goals lead the Terps.

Sasho Cirovski, one of the most decorated coaches in college soccer history, won his 400th match at Maryland when the Terps defeated Michigan on March 11. Cirovski currently has 427 wins all-time, the sixth-most among active coaches. With 401 wins at Maryland, Cirovski is one of just six coaches in history with 400 wins at one Division I school.
