McNaney, Malever Garner B1G Weekly Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore goalie Logan McNaney and freshman midfielder Eric Malever were named to the Big Ten Team of the Week in a release made by the conference offices today.
McNaney was named the conference's Specialist of the Week for the second time this season after scoring the goal of the weekend in college lacrosse. The Corning, N.Y. native found the net from 60 yards out on #12 Ohio State to help Maryland clinch an 18-8 win and the outright Big Ten regular season title Sunday night. McNaney also made 12 saves while allowing just 8 goals, picked up four GBs and caused a turnover.
Malever garnered his third nod as the Big Ten Freshman of the Week this season after finishing with three points in Sunday's victory. Malever scored a goal and notched two assists, bringing his total to 13 points on the season.
The top-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team returns to action this Saturday to play Johns Hopkins (2-7) in the final week of Big Ten regular season.
