Frost Named Division I National Player of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Senior goalkeeper Noelle Frost of the Maryland field hockey squad was named this week's Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division I Defensive Players of the Week Wednesday.
Frost was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Monday for the fourth time in her career and first time this season.
Frost averaged 7.5 saves in two wins over No. 6 Rutgers this weekend. She made seven saves in Thursday's 4-2 win and six in Saturday's victory.
Rutgers took seven shots in the fourth quarter Thursday and Frost made three saves to preserve the Terps' 4-2 lead. In Saturday's match, the Scarlet Knights had four penalty corners in the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter. Frost made three saves to hold them off.
This is Frost's third National Player of the Week honor, after she earned it on Sept. 18, 2019 and Oct. 9, 2019.
The Terrapins are the No. 4 seed in the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament this week in Iowa City, Iowa. Maryland will take on fifth-seeded Iowa Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. ET in the Quarterfinals at the Hawkeyes' Grant Field.
