COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Penn State claimed a 1-0 victory against Maryland on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Penn State recorded the first hit of the day with a single from Kennedy Legg to left field, but a proceeding double play with a stellar catch and throw from Jaeda McFarland ended things for the Nittany Lions
- Maryland's Ruby butler singled to left field in the bottom of the same frame and advanced to third on a throw, but the Terps couldn't get her back in time to put a run on the board
- The Nittany Lions went down in order in the top of the second, with the Terps recording a hit in the same frame, but each team remained scoreless heading into the third
- After a quiet third frame, Penn State was first to get on the board with one run on one hit, where they remained on top throughout the following four innings to put them on top
