Responsibilities: The University of Maryland is seeking qualified applications for the position of Social Media & Graphic Design Assistant. The position will work as a member of the Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience unit, reporting to the Graphic Designer, assisting with development and creation of social content for all Maryland athletic teams including graphics, video and photos. This individual will also be tasked with supporting the digital and graphic design needs of the marketing, media relations and development units.
The marketing staff is looking for a candidate that has a creative mindset with a passion for coming up with new and innovative ideas. The candidate would be expected to work independently in developing and creating content.
Qualifications: Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and have examples of their own work to show their creativity and knowledge. Preferred experience in managing social media platforms for a team, brand and/or institution. Motion graphic and/or photography experience is a plus, but not required. Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Compensation: This is a 12-month position that begins January 3, 2022, paid at an hourly rate of $12.50 with the potential to earn overtime pay. This position does not include benefits.
