Milan Gomillion Earns Second Straight Big Ten Weekly Honor

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland volleyball freshman libero Milan Gomillion was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week by the conference on Monday afternoon, her second consecutive week earning the honor.
The Bowie, Maryland, native totaled 51 digs (5.67 per set) this past weekend at the Charm City Challenge as the Terps went 3-0 with three sweeps. She also made 23 service receptions without a single error, bringing her up to 88 receptions this season with only a couple of errors.
Gomillion leads the team in digs on the young season with 155 digs (5.17 set.) She's also second on the squad with 18 assists and tied for fourth in service aces with five.
The freshman was also recognized after her first weekend of play with a spot on the Maryland Invite All-Tournament Team.
Gomillion is the first Terp to earn back-to-back Big Ten weekly honors since Maryland joined the conference in 2015.
